My name is Svetlana. I am a professional dancer. I have been dancing for over 25 years. I started to dance at age 6. I have danced Russian folk and ballroom. I studied piano in Moscow for 5 years. I still play and take lesson from an accomplished Russian professional.
After high school, I was accepted into Moscow Energy University. During that time, I continued dancing. I longed to become a professional dancer. After graduation from the Moscow Energy University, I attended the Theatrical University Ballroom dance department. For several years I worked hard at my craft.
With my partner, I entered many dance competitions placing high and gaining recognition for my ability to dance well in all styles. I have had the privilege to dance in many parts of the world including the United States, Russia, other former soviet states, England, China and Sri Lanka.
I've been teaching dance since 1982.
I also sew dance costumes. It was a blessing that my mother could teach me because professional costumes in the former Soviet Union were either unavailable or simply too expensive. I have been designing and sewing dance costumes for 27 years. My clients have included all levels of talent from amateurs to national champions. Dancing is my life. I would love to share my experience with you.
