/ COMPETITIVE DANCE CLASSES / DANCESPORT /

Social dances can be danced for the simple social fun or can be taken to the higher level, to the DanceSport competitions. Students with one year or a year and a half of experience in dance can consider targeting on partnering skills and competitions and can begin by taking competitive dance classes. Dance competitions are a wonderful way to enjoy your dancing and can provide focus, discipline and fun for your group and individual lessons but require more time, dedication, training and athleticism. Dance competitions allow dancers to demonstrate their skills and compare themselves with the other dancers. They are set up, so everyone can participate from beginners to advanced dancers, from the earliest age as 5 to an adult. For students who do not have a partner, there are available options to compete with their teacher as a Pro/Am couple, or with an amateur partner as Mix/Am couple.

OC Dancing teachers are always excited to take you to the new level of dancing - to the energetic world of competitive dance classes and DanceSport! We’re thrilled to see you compete! And if you are a competitive dancer, we would love to see you dancing competitive rounds with us every Friday in Newport Beach!

"I am a dancer. I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living.... In each it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes shape of achievement, a sense of one's being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes in some area an athlete of God." ~Martha Graham
