As soon as your child falls in love with the sport of ballroom dance, they’ll always want to be in the studio. From Fall to Spring, everything can get a little crazy with schoolwork, clubs, and of course, the intense competition season. By attending dance summer camp at OC Dancing, your child will be able to brush up on their skills, stay active, and have fun during the “off” season as well. It also makes it easier for students to focus on their dancing because they won’t be stressed out with homework and test scores.

Dig deep into technique. When competition season is in full swing, a significant part of the time is dedicated to learning new routines, perfecting the choreography, and working on performance quality. Without all that to worry about, there’s more time to focus on going back to the basics to make sure specific movements are being executed correctly.
Improve flexibility. Flexibility is something you must work at every single day. Even a long weekend or holiday break can cause you to lose your split or over split. Imagine how much is lost over an entire season? When you can work on this fundamental skill all summer, it won’t be as much of a shock to your body when you come back in the Fall.
Expand on skills. Summer is an ideal time to learn new tricks. With a new set of skills up your sleeve, it will be much easier to incorporate them into your routines instead of having to worry about nailing the choreography and a new trick.

After a break, the first month back in the studio is often all about regaining flexibility and technique.
